Recent Anime favorite - "Just Bones" Brook

For "SKULL JOOOOKE!"

And the song he sings.

And the perverted, weirdly funny skeleton he is.

"...If you simplify your English, you are freed from the worst follies of orthodoxy. You cannot speak any of the necessary dialects, and when you make a stupid remark its stupidity will be obvious, even to yourself. Political language -- and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists -- is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. One cannot change this all in a moment, but one can at least change one's own habits, and from time to time one can even, if one jeers loudly enough, send some worn-out and useless phrase -- some jackboot, Achilles' heel, hotbed, melting pot, acid test, veritable inferno, or other lump of verbal refuse -- into the dustbin, where it belongs."

--"Politics and the English Language", George Orwell, 1946.

"Om namo narayanayah".
In India, we had this chanting device, which could chant 10 different things.
"Om namo narayanayah".
This was one of them. It kept chanting over and over again.
In between the whistles of a cooker.
"Om namo narayanayah".
When the TV is muted for a phone call.
"Om namo narayanayah".
The sound keeps lingering in the background, for you to tune in.When I close the bathroom door, the sound pervades through.
"Om namo narayanayah".

I close the door to the bathroom here and sit down, and that distant sound play in my ear.
"Om namo narayanayah".

And they're hiding

The drinks flow
People forget
That big wheel spins, the hair thins
People forget
Forget they're hiding
The news slows
People forget
The shares crash, hopes are dashed
People forget
Forget they're hiding.

Around town on a sunday night

What started out as a midnight quest to get coffee and sit by the fireplace, ended up being a ride to many of the 'open late' spots in town, only to see them all closed. Nice drive though, and I'm not complaining because the Udhayam coffee in hand is not a bad substitute. Not bad at all.

The departed

One movie which blows me away every time I watch it.

Jack Nicholson. They say he was a charmer. I believe them.
I got this rat, this gnawing, cheese eating fuckin' rat and it brings up questions

Nothing more could have been said.
"Ok."
Couldn't deny Scorsese anymore, could they? What a combination.
Scorsese, you mad genius.
I  leave you with this picture. Officially in love.
